Summer Freedom

Summer is finally here!  Eilonwy and I could not wait to abandon or school desk...

Change into our summer clothes, and go for a ride on our horse, Buttercup.

Unfortunately, we didn't get too far when Arabella reminded us of our summer chores!
We are going to have a room of our very own in the new Hitty House...however, we have to help clean the house and get things ready to move in!

I suppose there will be enough time this summer to enjoy ourselves and do chores...and a room of our own (not a schoolroom) will be so exciting!

A New Home

The last few days have brought excitement to our house....we companion dolls are moving into the doll room.  Our person is in the process of finding places for everyone.  So far...

Arabella and our new companion, May, share a comfortable chair when they are in our new room.

Other friends gather around our new pet....
Some companions will live on a shelf in the closet...their home is in the process of being fixed to be comfortable for them.
Some of our baby companions live in a small nursery in the closet.
Other companions have nice spots in the room on the floor...
Or on top of the Hitty girls new home (which still is in need of decorating and new furniture to replace some lost over the years during moves).
Eilonwy and I have a nice spot near the window.
But of course, we all visit each other constantly whatever space in our room we generally occupy.  We are so happy to have our own space!

More snow and rain

It has been longer than I anticipated since my last update so I will share little snippets of our doings over the past several days. Our big snow finally melted.  However, two weeks later another snow storm was expected.  First however, it warmed up and it rained...a lot.  School was out in anticipation of the rain turning to snow.
Tobias and I ventured out in the rain.  I just wanted to walk a bit on the porch.  Tobias, however, had other ideas.

He took over one of the little boy in our family's toys.  It was a perfect boat for Tobias to explore the new lake in the back yard.  Soon, others arrived and he offered tours.
The snow came after that and we stayed inside in the warmth until the snow melted.

This week, we had some surprise packages arrive.  The weather has warmed up and there were some lovely new spring dresses for me and a lovely, soft new wig for my big sister, Arabella  I think it looks lovely on her!  My baby sister, Abby, didn't really have anything in the package but my person promised to make her a new dress soon.
But the best surprise was a new pet for us!  His name is Chester and he is a Cheshire Cat.  He is always grinning in a rather mischievous way.

I can't wait to get to know our new addition to our family better!  Hopefully I can update again soon!

It snowed even more last night!  I did not wish to venture out into the cold wind, but some of my friends did not mind.

Tobias made snow angels...or, snow goblins I suppose...

Some of my troll friends ventured out.  Ludo, our largest troll companion, did not have much difficulty...
Although  our littlest troll friends got rather lost in the snow.
The wind began to howl and with the snow blowing around and the temperatures dropping, everyone came in to get warm.

The trolls warmed up and fixed their hair that had been "washed" by the snow.

Tobias snuggled up with the pet Llama.

And I was cozy in the new, warm, wool dress my person just finished knitting for me!

A break from school is nice for a few days, but I must admit I am ready for winter to end and Spring to begin.  I don't think Spring is right around the corner at the moment, though.  Perhaps March will bring in our spring weather!  Until then, I will try to find more indoor adventures to enjoy.

A Snowy Monday

We woke up this morning to quite a bit of snow...and it is still snowing.  School is out today.  It is a perfect day to cuddle up with friends and read a book.

And, Tobias managed to find a bit of summer among the Valentine's Day roses.
I'm afraid it will be awhile before we find any bits of Spring or Summer outdoors!

A Busy Sunday

A Busy Sunday

Today I decided to start a blog of some of my daily activities.  Who am I?  A small wooden doll and travel companion.  I love to go on adventures, but sometimes adventures outside my home are scarce.  So...I have decided to find little events...and perhaps small adventures...inside my home to write about.

Today my person did some re-arranging.  She brought a trunk from the doll room (where many of my friends live) into the room we share.

We sorted out my clothes, shoes, nightwear, and coats.  It has turned very cold so I am keeping my warmer clothes and wraps ready.
I decided to wear warm wool today with some sturdy shoes.
The adventure for today was cleaning our fish tank and changing the gold fish into a larger aquarium.
The tank needed a good cleaning and it was the perfect time to move the fish.  I don't think they liked staying in a water pitcher but they were not there very long.
Soon they were ready to move to the large aquarium.
 I gave them some food...
Tom and Jerry...our goldfish...are always hungry it seems.
We went to the pet store and picked out a new background...and a small eel.  I think the fish are quite happy in their new home.  We will have to think of a name for the eel.
We were hungry after our hard work and helped ourselves to some Valentine cookies.  Of course, my little goblin friend Tobias showed up.  He seems to always turn up when sweets are served...or any time food is served actually...
I hope he leaves enough cookies for the rest of us.  Now off to bed...we are expecting snow overnight and perhaps we will have a holiday from school!
